I spent 3 years studying Bio-Medicine and Nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London gaining a diploma in Nutritional Therapy. I am a member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners and the General Naturopathic Council.
I specialise in personalised nutrition plans and work to identify potential triggers and any factor (including nutrient imbalances) that may be affecting your health.
I prepare easy to follow nutrition plans designed to suit individual
lifestyles - you do not have to be a great cook to eat nutritious food!
Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition science to the promotion of health.
There are multiple symptoms that can be supported with nutritional and lifestyle therapy. Some common conditions include acne, eczema and other skin problems; pre-diabetes/diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular conditions, dementia, menopause, infertility, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome and other hormonal issues, insomnia, low mood, weight management, low energy, IBS, MS, ADHD, osteoporosis, arthritis and sinus problems. This list is by no means exhaustive - if you are unsure whether nutritional therapy can help you, please contact me, without obligation.
A nutritional therapist cannot diagnose health conditions. It is not uncommon to recommend further testing in order to best provide a nutrition protocol. Some tests are provided by the NHS and I often work with GPs and consultants to support you. Private testing may be recommended (e.g. hormone testing, stool tests or genetic testing) but it can be expensive and I will only suggest this if I think it may change my approach to your plan.
I am not a big fan of prescribing nutritional supplements - I would prefer to include sufficient nutrients in your diet by developing your enjoyment of everyday food. Sometimes, it may be necessary to recommend them and I am qualified to do so.
We will discuss your personal medical history in detail together, focusing on any health matters you would like to address. You will be asked to complete a 7 day diet sheet. Appointments are preferred in person but can also be made via Skype, Zoom, FaceTime or telephone.
Sent to you via e-mail, usually within 48 hours - easy to follow with recipes.
We will need to meet again, usually around 6-8 weeks later, to identify any changes and make the appropriate adjustments to provide you with a personalised nutrition protocol tailored to your individual needs.
The structure of these two appointments is usually sufficient but, sometimes, it may be necessary to work together for longer, depending on your symptoms, starting point, test results or desired outcomes. I am transparent in my charges and will always discuss them with you. We have different needs at different life stages so it would not be uncommon to revisit a nutritional therapist every few years, for example. I offer packages at a discounted rate, should multiple appointments be required.
£185 includes 3 hours of consultation time plus 2 comprehensive personalised nutrition & lifestyle plans, recipes and ways to make positive changes in your life.
£65 per hour.
£45 includes a personalised analysis of your diet diary. This may not address specific triggers or drivers of your conditions so please do not assume it can replace the benefits of nutritional therapy but it may be a step in the right direction for you.

“I am a very active 63 year old who runs and works out on a daily basis, because of my age my body now requires a more focussed and balanced nutritional diet.
I push myself hard and set high standards and had been struggling with my energy levels for a while, this combined with an irregular sleep pattern was affecting my well being.
After my consultation with Jo and her thorough analysis of my existing diet and fluid intake Jo provided me with a nutritional plan that would help support my training schedule, providing the nutrients and electrolytes that my body and in particular my kidneys require.
Jo has been super professional, her ongoing support and nutritional advice as well as great recipe ideas have been invaluable.
I would highly highly recommended Jo to anyone who would like to improve their health and well being. ”

She has helped me to make many positive lifestyle changes and introduced me to foods which I would formerly have overlooked, but which now are part of my weekly food planning. Altogether a very constructive and interesting clinical experience"
"The opportunity to consult with Jo has been such an enriching experience. Through Jo's guidance and expertise I have been able to understand the underlying causes of things that were impacting on my health and well-being. Jo's analysis was wonderfully thorough. She suggested initial dietary supplements to achieve the needed balance, with ongoing herbal teas and a general overhaul of my diet. I now feel so much better both physically and emotionally. Jo has given me the tools to look after me. Thank you!"
"I initially went to see Jo as I had really uncomfortable reflux and wanted to tackle the menopause as naturally as possible. After a gentle but thorough consultation Jo provided a clear, comprehensive nutrition plan to follow. She also included some really insightful information and some delicious but simple recipes. I feel as I am eating more food than ever but I have lost weight and regained energy. It's early days yet, but already my reflux and menopause symptoms have dramatically improved. Changing engrained eating habits is very challenging so I have really appreciated Jo's continued professional, confidential and encouraging support."
"I would highly recommend Jo, having seen her because of various gastric problems. She is thorough in all her investigations and follow-ups and extremely approachable immediately putting me at ease.
